Watching Susan work with kids is nothing short of amazing. She creates a bond with them like no other and gets them to act, dance and sing at amazing levels. Susan Calderalo is a diamond in the rough. I watched her single-handedly build a music program from nothing! She went from putting on a school's seasonal showcase in a small school church, to eventually opening the same show, but at a large local theatre venue, with professional sound and lighting. I gotta say, the audience, I included, were floored at how professional these school performances became! But am I shocked? Absolutely not! Susan knows how to deliver. Aside from knowing how to build a show from scratch, Susan has a special way of grasping a child’s attention and making them love performing. I’ve known and have worked beside Susan for 17 years and it’s truly an honor. Not only is she beyond talented but she truly enjoys teaching and makes it her mission to encourage today's youth to express themselves through the wonderful world of the arts!

Susan Calderalo is more than a music teacher to me. She is family. Her excitement and devotion to her students is unlike any other. She truly caters to each child’s social and emotional needs and brings hands on learning to a whole different level. Because of her teaching and guidance is why I chose to study music, and I am forever grateful.

I had Mrs. Calderalo in middle school as my choir teacher and I have yet to meet someone who can get people inspired in the arts quite like she can. She brings light to every piece she teaches and her inspiration has only fueled me to continue working in the arts today! Her kindness, talent, dedication, and love for the arts shines in every performance she puts on stage.
